About Dal Segno
Dal Segno, abbreviated "D.S.," instructs the performer to jump back to the segno symbol (a stylised S with a slash and two dots) rather than returning to the very beginning. Like Da Capo, it is often paired with "al Fine" or "al Coda" to indicate where to stop or where to jump next.
